The firmware is not currently available on the www.dlink.com site in the support section, so the answer is no, it's not released yet.

You'd think they learned their lesson about giving solid release dates and not meeting them from the last firm date that was posted a couple months back.

Oh well, it is what it is.

I believe I also mentioned a post below it that it was going to be Tuesday and we had some internal FTP issues yesterday. I have the web dev guy staying later tonight and posting it so it will be live tonight. I believe you can see the firmware up there on the support page now and the final release notes are being placed in the FAQ as we speak.

Why does the EasySearch utility 4.7.0.0 point to the same binary as the 4.4.0.0 one?  It also contains the old files.

I also have a question about the SharePort utility.  Is it possible to use a USB hub to connect more than one device to the port?  I'd like to use the print server and do backup to a USB connected drive.

No idea why 4.7 points to the 4.4 my guess is our backup web guy struggled slightly. It is up on the ftp,

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns323/Apps/.

Yes you can use hubs connected to the device over shareport although it does play tricks on the GUI in the DNS-323, it does in fact work.

Given the fact that this app is being discussed here, can I assume it is available from the beta site?  Or will be soon?

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.

Probably a justified design choice but thought I'd report it anyway.

"Back up only between x-y" does not seem to affect manually started backups.

I just downloaded the new easy search utility and it has a C1 in the name.  Does that mean that it will only work with the C1 hardware version or all hardware versions up to C1.

Now after 1.08 is final I need to boldly go to the next frontier...  ;D
Actually I will flash 1.09b onto my box, but before doing so I would like to ask 2 things to the community. First, are there any (visible) additional changes in this release compared to 1.08 besides the already mentioned cloud backup service?

And second point, if it isn't so, why is the binary about 750k *smaller* compared to the 1.08 final?? Sounds to me some programs and/or functions have been dropped or so? Or just an artifact because of better compression?

Thanks for any info!

I think the DNS-323 is a very nice product because of its openess to other platforms. I would expect that the backup functionality to the cloud would be open as well and not limited to a proprietary DLink service.

I'm a very happy humyo customer. Humyo offers great value for a great price. I have to do automatic backups now via a seperate PC. It would be great if I could connect my DNS-323 directly to Humyo. This should be possible since Humyo supports WebDav.

What REAL/ACTUAL features or fixes are in this beta??
Or is it ONLY this over-priced cloud backup thing??
I can recommend Jungle Disk -- it will back up from a NAS to Amazon S3, though it will be slow...
Backing up from a PC will often be faster than from this slow-ish NAS.
Thank you, Tom

1. The changes are listed at the top of the forum in stickies, please check there.

2. Interesting statement on pricing considering non have been announced yet.

3. How will backing up from your PC be faster than our 'slow-ish' NAS? Please elaborate.

Is D-Link considering capabilities to backup from 1 DNS-323 to another one located at another location?  I'd like to move my pictures and home movies offsite to another DNS device.

To be honest, I haven't used the auto-FTP process so maybe that will work for what I need.
