If it does, they're not easily found.  I checked over in the DWA-552 forum and no one's posted since January but many of the posts I read had the same issue.

No big deal, I was just hoping for a nice D-Link PCI card to go with the 4500 but this older TRENDnet is working fine.  ;)

Good question, Furry, I don't know.  All our computers are 64 bit OS's and I didn't try it.  I'm sending it back to newegg.  No worries.  Too bad, too, it's a well made card but looks like it has incompatibilities with 64 bit Windows OS's.

I had a older D-link PCI wireless G card, and I had nothing but great luck with it. Haven't heard anything about yours though. First rule of thumb though, no matter who your buying from, never, ever, install the client. Use the CD only if it gives the option to install the driver only. You always want to use the windows wireless client. Thats like using windows update to update your ATI driver. ::grin:: and I am sure you know how well that goes down. Windows knows ATI hardware no better then Dlink knows Microsoft software.

Ha! Operator error!

I've done the following multiple times:

Installed and uninstalled the CD software, installed and uninstalled the drivers using Windows.

I've even tried uninstalling everything D-Link, removed the card, booted up the computer, turned off onboard LAN in the BIOS, shut it down, installed the card again and manually pointed to the "correct" driver.

Still sketchy connection, drops and other assorted BS.  I have it packaged and sending it back to newegg for credit.

I tried blocking a certain site on this router, I must say it is the most stupidest way to block on earth. I managed to get the site blocked but guess what, it tells the user the site is being blocked by the router. I know other methods but I thought I could relay on my router to do it but now I know that I can't. Anyone know how to bypass this?

Try editing the Host file if you are really wanting to block a web site or address.  ::)

May you further explain yourself sir? If you mean manually going into his pc and blocking the sites; I will not do that.

You could sign up for a DynDNS account. I think there still free for this service. It would set up a recursive DNS server that you would set as the static DNS for the router and enable DNS relay. I think you can run the client on your PC to update and control, and you could black list certian domains. They need to be specific though, so thats harder then you think. Only get wildcard with the Pro level. Also, if you set a static IP on the PC, it would override any DNS on the router. Or you could use a proxy and that would get around it too. Last, it would still show a custom log on page. If your looking for a 404 error, thats actually pretty hard to do. Whats the reason though? Why do you need someone not to know your blocking them? Just tell them not to go to the site, log access, and if they go to it, mac filter kill their connection. Fool proof method, simple method, anom method; pick two. :-)

PS. Heres a link with more info on how to set up the DnyDNS service.

My solution was OpenDNS, if they know I blocked them than they will ask me to unblock the site for them. Nothing important really, I just didn't want them accessing that site, for their own good. But who am I to judge what is good for one and what’s not? I will soon give them access back.
