Title: FTP doesn't work
Post by: eebclee on December 10, 2015, 08:09:16 PM
FW version 1.01.02

I have 4 other D-Link cameras with the same FTP settings and they work fine, I haven't been able to get FTP on the DCS-2630L to work.  It won't transfer video or pictures, and if I try the test button it says it fails.  Unfortunately the camera log itself doesn't provide any useful information on the cause of the failure.  I was puzzled because on the FTP server side, the server was showing successful connections but no file transfers.  So I started digging in the FTP logs and saw this:

Code: [Select]
12/10/2015 19:35:10.686|[FTP:83761:x:x.x.x.x]] READ : *CWD /20151210*
12/10/2015 19:35:10.687|[FTP:83761:x:x.x.x.x]] WROTE: *550 "/20151210": No such file or directory.*
12/10/2015 19:35:10.689|[FTP:83761:x:x.x.x.x]] READ : *MKD /20151210*
12/10/2015 19:35:10.691|[FTP:83761:x:x.x.x.x]] WROTE: *550 Access not allowed.*

It looks like instead of putting the files in the specified directory (like the other D-Link cameras) it's trying to change into a directory that doesn't exist, then trying to create that directory (which the server doesn't allow because I'm already sending it to the directory I want the files in).  Seems like a bug.  Is there a way to get it to use the specified directory instead of making up its own directory?

I'd be curious to see if you manually created the folder and gave permission, would it work? This is only a test to see.
I'll forward this to D-Link for review.

It then wants to make another subdirectory for the hour.  So by default instead of putting your files where you ask, it puts them in date/hour subdirectories.  It's not a bad feature, but especially since it's inconsistent with their other cameras it needs to be optional.  Preferably both date and hour would be optional.

Can't be made easy to test huh. Oh well. I'll forward this on for review. IF you need more immediate help, I recommend getting on the phone and talk to support. I presume any changes will be in the next FW update and no idea of time frames.

Any updates on this request ?
Can we please have the date and hour folders in the FTP upload feature for images and video as optional please.
I can't get this camera to upload to the Zipato FTP server because the FTP server doesn't allow creating folders. It only allows to upload files.

Maybe try a different FTP server?

Might check with the Mfr of your current FTP server to see if there is any help on this with there server SW.
