Schedule downloads - unable to access hidden folders
« on: November 05, 2010, 11:56:06 AM »

I'm attempting to use the Schedule downloads Application to backup various computers.

The DNS-323 won't connect to a Microsoft hidden share.  It can connect if i use a visible share.
eg:
\\computer1\backuptest$\folder1  - doesn't work
\\computer1\backuptest\folder1  - works!

Is there a way to access windows administrative or hidden shares with this unit?
I am using firmware: version=1.09

Haven't tried this myself, but can you use a user/password with admin level access to the share?

Yes.  I am able to connect as an admin (or non-admin) user to the visible shares, but neither can connect to a $ share.
I suspect the D-Link GUI is stripping out extra characters eg: $
Any idea where this info is stored on the box?  I'd verify the config files if i knew where they were.
