DSL-2540B config to a static IP address
« on: November 02, 2009, 02:41:44 PM »

Sorry if I'm in the wrong section, I cannot find the "message Board" for my DSL  :-\.

I am currently using a Zoom X5 on a static IP address line coupled to my DIR-655 for wireless.  I would like to use my new DSL-2540B instead of the X5.  Sometimes I change the cable to hook directly into the X5 so I know how to re-configure Vista for this setup.

I cannot see in the 2540B setup menus where to input the LAN IP, mask, and gateway addresses nor the WAN IP, mask or gateway.  My 'encapsulzation' on the Zoom reads: 1483 Bridged IP LLC, and the VPI/VCI = 1/50.  Are there other parameters I should set?

The manual and other docs are vague on this config.  Can you help me out, I'm sure I'm not the first person to do this.

Gracias

Hard to imagine it has anything to do with NAS units. ;)

I'd be posting perhaps in the Home Networking forum here and ask the folks from D-Link where it should go.  I don't see any DSL modem or wired only router sections...

Thank you Gunrunner for moving this post.

I still need some help with my config problem however.  Is there something I am missing or have overlooked in the manual or screens that would tell me where to put my ISP information?  As you can see below my static IP address is 201.204.240.114

Actually, I'm just a lowly member here, I can't move posts. :)  I was just suggesting that forum as a more likely place to get a response.
