Motion detection not working with Firmware 1.05
« on: November 30, 2014, 01:07:32 PM »

I recently updated firmware on my DCS-933L to v1.05.  Since then, I cannot get motion detection or sound detection notifications to work.  These features worked fine on the same camera prior to the firmware update.  I have a second identical camera on the same network, still running 1.04b1 firmware, and motion detection works fine on that camera.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Motion detection did not work for me after I updated to 1.05 on my DCS-933L camera.

I downgraded to version 1.04 and motion detection is working again.

I have same problem - DCS-933L went offline after saying yes to firmware upgrade through mydlink cloud   >:(

Finally figured out that turning off wireless extender allows wifi to work again. Don't know how to regress firmware to prior version as no firmware showing on support site.

I was able to download version 1.04 from the support site:

To install a new (or older) firmware version, first download the firmware to a PC on a the same LAN as the DCS-932L. Log into the DCS-932L firmware by entering the camera IP address in a browser from a PC on the same LAN as the camera. Next navigate to MAINTENANCE > Firmware Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.

Update on this problem...  I now have 3 cameras working on the same network.  All were running 1.04_b1 firmware.  One of the three sends motion detection push notifications just fine.  Other two do not.  I have checked carefully to make sure all settings are identical for all three cameras.  I get live video for all three on iphone and PC.  All three also work fine with my DNR-202L video recorder.  I just upgraded one of the (non-working) cameras to 1.07_b1 firmware.  No difference.  Still having problems.  Anyone else having this problem?

I''ve created a forum account to figure out how to correct this issue. Do I need to revert to a previous firmware version to get motion capture working again?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

You don't need to know that information. Everything else works:

- test email works
- email video as per schedule works
- email still photo as per schedule works

EMail still photo or video upon motion detection does not work. Where can I find a download of a previous firmware version?

The reason for asking for information is to help us get a better idea of your situation and helps us give you better suggestions to resolve the issue. Kind of makes it hard to help you with out some information.

You posted on a 2 year old thread which was referring to v1.05. There as been resent FW updates since then.
