Title: AC Speeds?
Post by: BobTodd on December 01, 2014, 01:07:02 PM
I Have 3 Laptops

2012 Macbook Air with 5ghz N
13" HP sleek Book working on 2.4ghz N
dell XPS 14z with a new intel 7260AC card

I also have a mac mini connected via gigabit ethernet as a file/media server

I get between 15-30MB's transfering from the macbook to mini
I get between 12-14MB's transfering between the HP to mini
I get around 10-20MB's transfering between the Dell to mini

the AC card in the dell eventhough it is 2x the intel 6230 N card speed i took out of it, it should be blowing my HP & Macbook away

I have turned 80mhz on in the router, not sure what else i can do

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Here what I got when I first got mine router in house:
