Title: Can I auto-upload recordings to a cloud based service like OneDrive?
Post by: confused on September 09, 2015, 08:17:26 AM
Is there a way to save the recordings in two locations - the attached hard drive and cloud storage like OneDrive?  I can see the device in File Explorer, but it shows up as a media device and will not let me view the hard drive or its contents.

I like having the recordings stored on a local drive, but that does me no good if someone breaks into my house and steals that too.

Thanks.

I don't know if this is supported. You might be able to directly from the camera if it's supported there.
You might phone contact D-Link support and ask about this.

I was thinking the same thing about someone stealing the hard drive and came up with an idea.

Since I have two locations (PA and FL)  both using a DNR-202L I set up port forwarding on both routers for the cameras.   Then on the DNR-202L in the other location I put in the pubic IP address and the forward port number.  (e.g. xx.xxx.131.75  port 43535  not 168.192.1.19  port 80)  the remote DNRs records the other locations video.  In my case the Florida cameras are recorded in PA.    Now if someone steals every thing in FL  or there is a major fire or something then everything is still saved in PA.

The limitations are 2 fold.  You must have bandwidth on both ends to handle the data plus you must have only one NAT between the internet and the local camera network.

anyway this works for me.
