Title: configure the DAP-1522 in AP mode
Post by: Leathal on May 05, 2010, 09:51:32 AM
What's the proper way to configure the DAP-1522 in Access Point mode?

I have a DIR-825 Rev A1 router which it's connected to. My understanding of the AP is to provide a extended wireless connection to the network, so what I don't get is do I need to setup the AP in 2GHz or 5GHz mode with the same SSID as what's on the DIR-825 and the same encryption key too?

Also I am finding the single from the DAP-1522 isn't great compared to the DIR-825 which I am getting the 2GHz single (2 to 3 bars). Where the DIR-825 is situated is in the basement of my GF's condo which is surrounded by thick concrete walls a concrete ceiling. The DAP-1522 is located in the washer/dryer room near the ceiling; this room is the dividing point of the house from the down stairs; so I see the wood frame of the house.

Thanks
