Talked with Tech Support regarding my 2630L cameras. The Security Spy software uses JPG for video, won't use H.264, so I see only 5 fps. The video motion is not smooth, but the images are sharp enough, nice 180 degrees, good contrast. Even the H.264 of the 2630L has a 15 fps limitation. What multi-cam software will show full HD and the highest fps.
Looks like the 960L is better in that I'll get 1280 x 720 with 30 fps and JPEG can give 30 fps at 1280 x 720.
I do like 180 degrees however. Should I return the 2630Ls and select a different camera?
The support agent recommended Just Connect+, but it refuses to connect to the 2630L cameras. It does connect to 2132L and 932L

BOTTOM LINE: I'd like a hardware/camera & software combo which yields full 1080p HD, 30 fps, H.264, and multi-cam view on my Mac laptop. :D :D :D

I'm getting 30 fps in night mode streaming to my phone with mydlinkLite app a rather dark stream. 1 of my 960l is only doing 15fps. Both in h264. Both on local network.
Signal strength plays a role, so does the scene and how much detail there is. If I put the 2630l in day mode, the frame rate drops as there is now random static.
Yes a lot of software doesn't do h264. I have no idea on mac. My synology nas only did MJPEG in my understanding. Isn't that what onvif format standard calls for? (I haven't researched that).

Hey MacUser, one suggestion mentioned for your issue would be to try VI Mobile 2 App from Video Insight, Inc. to see if maybe you could get better performance through it.

Seems the problem in part is dlink not allowing for than 5 fps with JPEG.

Not sure what you mean. The GUI only allows 5 fps for MJPG. Please restate your question.

That's only 720p and above.
Do you have an option for the RTSP URL?

Yes. With Security Spy there are two RTSP choices (MPEG4 and H.264), and they both give 25-30 fps. HOWEVER, they both also have three undesirable changes with that nice fps:
1. The seconds on the OSD flickers and is unreadable.
2. Green screen flashing initially, which then reduces, but never goes away.
3. Comical images of cars and people jerking forward the backward.
Now, dlink blames this on the software developer, the developer blames this on dlink having inconsistent H.264 protocols. Indeed, tech support at dlink admits that the H.264 is different between and among their cameras. I can use H.264 on the 936L but cannot on the 2630L. :'( :'(
