Clear static IP address
« on: July 16, 2016, 04:49:21 AM »

Hi all,

I've got a problem with setting a static IP address which is already in some kind of table in the router.
I don't have the device anymore which had that specific IP address.
Now I want to assign a different device to that IP address, but the router won't let me, because it has that address already in a table somewhere.
Is it possible to clear that specific static IP without resetting the router to factory defaults?
Thanks.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Hi,

My hardware revision is B1.
My firmware version is 2.03
My region is Europe.

And when I typed this reply I noticed that this board is for USA only, so sorry to place this post here.
But I still hope you can help me.

Ok, we've seen this issue on other model routers were the UI hides the devices that was configured for a reserved IP address and then the device was disconnected leaving the IP address configuration in a hidden state. The problem had to be corrected by D-Link as this was a FW issue and I presume this is the same with the DIR-868L and D-Link would need to address this.

The only way to clear this would be to do a factory reset then set up the router from scratch. Then do the same reservations, however you'll need to be sure to keep the device and when it comes time to remove the device, be sure to go in and disable the reservation before fully disconnecting the device.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Feel free to post here in the forums. If we can't help you out then we'll recommend contacting your regional D-Link support office.

Ok, I received a beta firmware from a forum member and that helped with this problem!
The reserved ip's show as grey devices in the device list.
So now I can clear them :)
Thanks a lot!

Glad it working. Let us know if you see any other issues. Like Mydlink services or other problems.

Enjoy.  ;)
