Why Does Connected Clients Shows all Wired Clients

tgodar:
Why does the Connected Clients page show all my Wired Clients? This DIR-869 is NOT the internet router. It is a #2 wireless router on my network. All my wired clients use the #1 wireless router with is connected to the Internet as their gateway.

* What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
* Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
* What region are you located?
This is normal if your devices are connecting to the main host router. The DIR will detect other devices on the network since I presume your using LAN to LAN AP mode on the DIR router. Even thought your wired conected are connected to the main host router, the DIR will still see devices on the network while in AP mode. This happens with my DIR-890L in AP mode currently.

What is AP mode?

I have it connected to a gigabit router on the network, which is connected to a DIR-655 which is connected to the Internet Router. My plan is to put all the computers on the network on the DIR-869 and leave all the other devices (phones, tablets, DISH, Alexa, Blue Ray player, etc..) on the DIR-655 and put the DIR-655 in it's own subnet. Then set a static route from the 869 to the 655 so it can get out.

FurryNutz:
AP mode disables all WAN port and DHCP service. Would need to be connected to the main host router using it's LAN port for this mode. Can be connected to a switch. I have 3 APs connected in the configuration here and use a main host router as the DHCP server for everything.

Turning a router into an AP.

I suppose you can try this:
How to extend network without AP Mode using a Router

tgodar:
Yes then I am in AP mode.

For the wireless computers connecting, I reserve an IP for them, so I don't need DHCP either. I don't broadcast with either DIR and for the 869 both 2.4 a 5 ghz are invisible. The 869 IS connected to a gigabit switch which is connected to the 655.

Thanks I'll take a look at the link.
