My company has launched an investigation into a tampered document. We keep all of our documents with this Quality management software. The software never had trouble before. The investigation is looking through who could have done this. We are looking for every possibility here. So I wanted to look for every possibility.  Could someone have accessed this document using a vulnerability of the wifi we use to connect all of our devices? (Not that we know there is a vulnerability just asking if this could be possible. )

Not familiar with the software but if someone got on your network and knows how to access your documents not sure if you blame the Wi-Fi security, network security, or software.

Well, even if they were able to connect to your network by hacking the wi-fi, the computer which the "software" is installed on, has its own layer of security. They would need to login into the computer and then log into the "software" to access these sensitive documents.
