At my wits end- can't activate 600L
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:09:18 PM »

Here's the scoop.

I am trying to setup a brand new 600L router (Firmware 1.13) with 3 932L cameras. The cameras I don't have issue with getting connected to the router, the issue I do have is activating the account I am trying to register the router and cameras to. I input the account information into the routers configuration menu, click the 'Login" button, and all that happens is it goes right back to the input menu, and doesn't connect the device to the account.

I can't access anything from the website, all that pops up is a message saying I don't have any devices connected. What gives? We need to get this stuff setup for security around the family shop. Help is much appreciated.

Oh, and fyi, the ethernet cables and wireless connections are working just fine. I am on thei nternet through the router right now.

Link>Welcome!

What region are you located?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Is Java up to date?
What OS platform are you using?

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.

I presume you are referring to mydlink.com registration. Please visit the mydlink Cloud board. We have a dedicated mydlink.com board as well as a board for all the mydlink mobile apps.

Were you able to register your DCS-932Ls to mydlink? Are you only experiencing issues with the router?

Okay, nevermind, I think it was something I was doing. I eventually figured it out. But now I can't get the WPS feature to turn on. Obviously I can't have the cameras hard wired, we need to place them throughout.

Any ideas? I push the button on the side of the router and it does nothing.

WPA must be enabled through the DIR-600L firmware first.

I'm not 100% sure of the setup location. Log into the DIR-600L web UI and navigate to SETUP > Wireless Setup > WIRELESS SECURITY MODE and look for an "Enable WPA" option. From there, you should be presented with multiple options for the WPA protocol. You will most likely have to reboot the DIR-600L for these changes to take affect.
