Title: uninstall NCSplugin... what files are loaded?
Post by: ok460 on July 04, 2017, 06:58:19 AM
I've installed the ncsplugin on a mac Safari + Chrome. Installation successful restarted... no luck, still says I need to install ncsplugin. Is this a java app?

What are the files that are installed with this plugin, I would like to uninstall them.

thank you

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

What OSX version are you using? I've noticed issues with recent Sierra version.

Did you go into Safari's add-on menu section and ensure it's fully enabled there and pointed to the service or camera?

Does FF ESR work for you?

Ok, keep us posted. I recall I didn't get anywhere with 10.12.5 and Safari with my 3 cameras.

After a couple re-installs of the plugin and restarts, Safari now displays video - I'm not entirely sure why it started. I don't think I made any changes to the settings. Chrome still displays the following - "The browser you are using may have difficulty receiving images and video. If you experience any issues viewing this page, we suggest using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari."

12.15.3 OS, Safari - Version 10.1.1 (12603.2.4), Chrome - Version 59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)

FurryNutz - thanks for all the info on this forum, I spent some time reading all of your helpful posts.... something I should have done before :)

Glad you got it working.

Ya, I don't use Chrome unless I need too. Users choice though.

Enjoy.  ;)

the browser/Safari/plugin fix was the latest beta firmware for the 936L!

I attempted to access one of the other cameras and was unsuccessful, the browser interface continued to ask to download the plugin even though it was installed. The only difference was that the other camera which successfully displayed the video stream within Safari had the beta firmware installed. Once I updated the firmware for the second camera and the camera restarted the video was now viewable.

old firmware, not working with Safari - 1.02.01

new beta firmware, fixed Safari video problem - 1.02.03

don't be too quick to install the beta firmware - my experience so far with the 936L is that it does seem to effect the motion sensitivity, and within Safari the liveview shows video, but not on the tab to define the motion activity parameters.

Ya, already did. Had too. Still broke there on the 936L. LOL. D-Link is aware of it.

Do you know if the 936L has problems with the hardware, or whether this will all be fixed in the firmware? These are new cameras for me, was there a time when it was first shipping with early firmware that Motion detection was good?

I believe it's FW related...
