Feature request: Wake-on-lan
« on: January 22, 2010, 01:12:13 PM »

I use my home computer through the port forwarding from somewhere in the internet.
But sometimes I would like to keep my home computer turned off most of the time and being able to turn it on on demand when I need it.

So it will be very useful if the router could have this feature: Advanced menu has an additional screen: Wake-on-lan. It allows an authenticated user to type in the MAC address of the hostr inside LAN and router would broadcast wake-on-lan packet into the LAN.

I can imagine that this must be very easy to implement since there is the whole Linux OS running there.

Also it's probably possible to achieve wake-on-lan feature through UDP port 9 forwarding, but it's very undesirable since then anybody will be able to do that. And this should only be limited to an authenticated user.
