Can a Dlink DSL-224 modem/router be used a a simple switch?

I have a spare Dlink DSL-224 modem/router lying around. Can I use it as a simple unmanaged network switch.

You should be able to but you will need to statically assign the LAN side an IP in your network, turn off DHCP and any rules/filters.
