Cannot connect
« on: December 18, 2018, 11:45:47 PM »

Hi,
Just purchased the 1650 and am having all sorts of trouble.
1. when connected by ethernet cable, I cannot reach the http://dlinkap.local. All I get on Chrome is not connected to the internet
2. I am using Windows 10
3. Firmware 1.03 - I see an upgrade is necessary but how to upgrade if I can't talk to the extender
4.  Using the WPS button on my router, it will not give me the internet. ie. The internet button blinks orange after the power button stops blinking green
5.  It will wirelessly connect to my computer but no internet.
Is it worth persisting or do I go back to the store and swap for a Netgear

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at the sticker under the DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What is the mfr and model of the main host router the DAP is connected too?
Look at the main host routers connected clients list to see if the DAP is listed there. IF it is, look for the IP address, it may have a new IP address. Try to connect to the DAP using this IP address.
