losing wireless access after 2-3 days
« on: July 21, 2011, 06:29:30 AM »

Have the dir625 and after being on for 2-3 days, every wireless device will not connect to the network. All wired connections are fine but for some reason no wireless devices will connect. DIR625 is set as the dhcp server.

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2. Cipher type to Auto

hw version A1
FW 1.09

QoS was on, I turned it off
DNS Relay turned on
Already had reserved IP's
set to G only, I found mixed , any flavour gave me grief.
security set to  WPA -Personal

Any red flags?

Already reserved IPs on the router or devices? Preferred is router.
Any other WiFi routers near by?
Let us know how single mode G works out for you.
Is FW v1.09 the lastest version available? Just asking. No need to update...yet.
