DLink has regional products that are designed to work in specific regions or countries. I presume that if you take one region product to anohter, theoretically it should work however may not due to differences in WiFi and wired standards. I don't see the DIR-857 listed for Argentina:

However there maybe other problems going on.
What ISP modem Mfr and model # do you have?
What ISP service do you have? Cable or DSL?

Use InSSIDer application to see how many other WiFi routers are near by. How many are there?
What wireless modes are you using?
Try Mixed G and N or Single Mode G or N.
Try changing to a open or unused channel on either.

Indeed DIR-857 is not available in Argentina. The one I brought here is working great though.
I tried swapping cables and the probelm disappeared. So I tried v1.04 again and now it works smoothly.

Thank you very much!

I'm back on line with the 857. Running great so far. I did notice that if I had my Mac Book connected wireless on 5Ghz set up with in a QoS rule for global ports and priority of 128, and using a separate QoS rule for 2 xbox game consoles set up for global ports and priority of 1, Specific Remote IP addresses, yellow bars were the highest status level in BO2 on the xboxes. Soon as I switched the Mac Book to a different AP, all green bars were seen in BO2. Mac was mainly doing nothing, had a few pages open for the forum is all.  :-\ Other then that, v1.04 seems good. 1 xbox is wired, the other down stairs is bridged to the 5Ghz radio. Using custom DNS found with Name Bench. uPnP is ON.
