Resume function while playing from USB
« on: March 26, 2008, 08:15:53 AM »

Resume is not working when playing video from USB. Is it just me or is it a real bug in the unit. Resume works fine when played thru a streaming server.

This is just one of the limitations of USB direct.

The device needs to write to a file on a server that is a marker for the DSM-510 when accessing the file again.  Since the 510 cannot write to USB, there is nowhere to write using USB direct.

Thanks for the reply. If the device is writing a file to the server, then why it that I can resume only one file at a time. ( If I watch a movie and stop it in the middle, and watch another movie, I loose the resume function in the first movie I watched ).

It is designed write over the file so it only keeps the information of the last file played.
