Title: New Wifi clients can't connect - some maximum reached

We have a DSL-2750e in our small hotel to provide guests with Internet access in the lobby. However, we seem to be reaching some kind of limit because once there are about 20 Wifi connections, the device refuses new wifi connections. Is there a limit? Can it be changes, or optimised in some way.

The problem is that only a small number of people will use the access at the same time, but if their phones remain in range, they will stay connected (or connect periodically)

Check the manual. A quick Google of that router suggests you need a more modern robust router. You cant run a business with that and not expect bad feedback. One bad review can nail you and that is hard to turnaround IMO.

Yes there is a limit on modem as these model modems are a home class modem. You need a business class wireless AP or possible more than one to handle many devices and connections. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Ask them about business class wireless APs and which one maybe best suited for your needs. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
