DCS-5010L and DCS-5025L hacked?
« on: January 08, 2016, 09:55:09 AM »

Hi All,

I have noticed for the last couple of days my DCS-5010L and DCS-5025L cameras with the led blinking, which means they are being accessed.
As soon, as I turn the camera it stops blinking.

Is there any logs or prevention to stop this from continuing to happen?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciate.

Thx

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool: 192.168.#.10 and .11  DHCP

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

Review the user manual to see the LED status. Usually RED LED means there is a connection problem.

I thought it meant motion was being detected.
Log into the cameras f/w and look at the logs in there.

The 5210L reports the following in the user manual page 24:
The online status of each camera will be displayed. Your camera’s online status may be one of the following:
A green check mark indicates that your camera is online and ready to use.
A yellow exclamation point indicates that your camera is online, but the camera password
has changed. You will need to enter your new camera password to access your camera again.
A red x indicates that your camera is currently offline and cannot be accessed remotely.
