Recovering data with R-Studio
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:50:41 AM »

Hi.

I accidentally deleted some files off my DNS-320 and would like to get them back. I read that R-Studio is a tool that can help me out, downloaded the network edition and tried to connect to the NAS (Connect to remote), however the program cannot connect to the NAS at all (ERROR : Connection failed).

I used the NAS's IP address to connect and port 3174 (it was the default one on R-Studio when I selected the NAS).

Anyone know what to do from here ? Maybe I am using the wrong port ? I need to recover the data directly from my NAS without pulling out the drive and connecting it to my laprop (don't have a SATA to USB adapter).

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I am pretty sure you need to setup R-Studio on a computer and then pull the troublesome drive and directly connect it to that computer.  Good luck
