IE 11 and DLINK Active X Install
« on: November 18, 2013, 01:27:58 PM »

Can D-LINK get their act together? I installed IE 11. It seems to have broken mydlink.com access to my cams. Reinstalled using the latest download and it does not work. What's up with that D-LINK? Can you be more up to date and coordinated? This is totally lame.

Im sure they are working on it and have tested it. Have you enabled Compatibility mode?

Try a different browser like FF by chance?

If this fails, you'll need to phone contact D-Link support and get help on it. IE 11 is fairly new so please be patient.

I realize we need to have some patience but after 6 months we still have no fix for the java security mess either. A submission to dlink support produced no response at all.

How can you be sure they are working on it, did someone in development tell you? IE 11 was announced months ago and would have been available via Technet subscription which I am confidant DLink has a subscription to.

Do you have any contact in development that can give a solid indication if progress on these topics?

Wonderful product and tool, software makes it very limited. It can't be that difficult to test and fix these glaring problems?

Was the submission via email or on the phone? I recommend always talking to someone one the phone as email support seems to result in not getting much information. You need to phone contact D-Link support and talk to level 2 or higher support and get immediate help and information.

Yes, it sometimes takes some work to develop, test and ensure fixes are working before they deploy.

Please phone contact D-Link support and inquire about this instead of using email.

Thank you.

Ive dealt with both Negear and DLINK support and IMO the former is much more responsive and savvy. DLINK tech normally reads scripts and manuals something you can do yourself. They are not able to handle specific issues and instead try to provide a solution after trying to cookie cutter categorizing your problem.

You need to ask for level 2 or 3 tech support to get away from the script readers on level 1.

A quick workaround is to enable developer mode (F12), go to the button icon on the right (Emulation) and select "Internet Explorer 10" instead of "Edge" on Document Mode.

IE11 works great now on Windows 8.1 desktop. The java issues are also resolved on Chrome.

Thank you for fixing...
