DIR-868L Rev B1 in NA
« on: January 07, 2015, 02:36:38 PM »

I just bought a DIR-868L in Canada, it is rev B1.  Does B1 have the processor and radio as A1 other than the change of UI?

There is currently no DD-WRT support for B1.

thanks

I believe it's mostly the same as the Rev A. I don't have any actual information as thats not released to the public.

thanks, hopefully some one or site will be able to confirm about the hardware.   I bought this router because it has decent reviews but the reviews were based on rev A1.

btw, is there a UI emulator for the DIR-868L B1?   Does it have only one SSID + one guest network per band?  Does it have access point isolation per SSID?

I think is just one SSID and guest zone per band and and there is zone access feature seen here or Guess Zone which seems to allow GZ users to access the LAN side if enabled:
http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dir880l/101/GuestZone.html

This is for the 880L which as the same UI and similar features...However I can't confirm if Rev B actually has the same...

I couldn't find the "zone access" feature for GZ.   And there is still no AP Isolation on the SSID from what I see, really don't know why D-Link refuse to implement this feature.  Are Guest Zone users isolated from each other?

In GZ settings under "Home Network Access > Internet Access Only", do you know what is this setting for?

Is no-ip.com available for DDNS?

On the bright side, the new UI is definitely on the right track.

thanks

GZ features are all under wireless and wireless advanced in that UI.
I presume that being in GZ, clients may not be isolated from each other.

The Internet Access Only is for allowing GZ users to be able to access resources on the LAN side from the GZ if this featuer is enabled.

From what I understand, Rev B is a Canada release model only. Not available in the USA at this time.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
