Hello,

I've got a DCS-2630L Revision A with the 1.05.02 firmware and connected via 5 Ghz wifi.

Overall, the wifi connection is very good, but it seems that at least twice a day, the camera disconnects for ca. 10 seconds at a time.

When I look into the camera's log, I see that each time there is a 10 second disconnect, there is also a "Failed to synchronize the time with NTP server" message in the log.

Further down on the board, it was suggested that one would need to specify DNS servers, in order to get the NTP time sync working, so I added in entries for IPv4 Primary and Secondary Servers (OpenDNS Servers).

This did not change the behavior.

In the camera's "Time and Date" settings, I've tried the following ntp servers with both name and ip address:

   ntp1.dlink.com
   ntp.dlink.com.tw
   time.nist.gov

Wondering if anyone else has reproduced this 10 second disconnect/reconnect behavior with the "Synchronize with NTP Server" "Time and Date" setting?

Hello Furrynutz,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm located in the D.C. area, and I've got Xfinity internet service with a Motorola Surfboard SB6121 cable modem.  My router is a Netgear R7800 with the latest V1.0.2.62 firmware.

Today, I'm experimenting with different NTP servers to see if it could make a difference.  My current server setting, "0.us.pool.ntp.org" has been running for a couple hours, and I haven't yet seen the "Failed to synchronize the time with NTP server" log entry with the corresponding camera disconnect....time will tell.

Ok, thanks for letting us know.

if you don't see the log enteries again, please re-configure for time.nist.gov again and test. This should work as well as the others.
