ERROR IN UPDATE FIRMWARE - DNR-322L REV A (RESOLVED)
« on: June 14, 2018, 04:25:45 PM »

Hello friends.

I'm having a DNR-322L - HARDWARE A2 NVR that when connecting to the network, drops directly to an update page instead of the login page.

Problem:
 When you turn on the NVR, it starts normally because the blue light blinks, then you get continuous access, but after that, the HD lights blink rapidly in Orange together
 The product instead of entering the login page, goes directly to a Firmware update page
 Then I downloaded and sent Firmware 2.40b03 to Hardware A
 However at the end of the procedure it gives an error and does not update
(Sorry, I can put image here or do I need to host it on an external server?)

I have already tried to update through Chrome and through IE, both I see that the network light flashes and sends the firmware to the DNR 322L, because at the time it should start the installation gives error and does not update. I also downloaded a previous version, at 2.40b01 but both give an error. I put the firmware on a flash drive and put it right into the NVR, turned it off and then turned it on and nothing happens. When trying to reset the NVR, it simply does not reset, nothing happens even by holding the button for 30 seconds. I tested with HD installed and without HD installed, both have the same problem.

What is happening with this product? How do I solve this problem? Has anyone experienced this and can you help? Thank you.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Try using IE11 or FF browser and try sending the v2.20 FW file instead...

If this fails, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Hello, thank you for the answer, I'm from Brazil.

I already used IE11 with Firmware 2.40b03 and 2.20b01 and had the same problem.

I've already dialed on phone support and Dlink does not answer this product line through phone support, just by email.

PS: E-mail support is slow and flawed, I say this from Brazilian support.

My hands are tied. : / Is there no way to force a Reset on this unit? One way to include the original 1.40 firmware via USB?

So when you log into the device you are at a upgrade firmware page? You entered the emergency recovery/crash recovery screen. If you cannot load ANY firmware, then the device may be defective.

What is the exact error message?

Exactly, the device enters directly into a firmware update screen, see image:

I can not send any firmware. The error presented and this of the image:

How long have you had the DNR-322L? Was it working normal until now?

Were there any changes to the hardware when this started happening?

I have since 2016, he went to a client and returned because he was not compatible with his camera. I do not know what he might have done. Maybe he tried to include a wrong firmware (his hardware is A, maybe the client tried to put the Hardware B Firmware, I can not confirm). Anyway he returned it, this week I updated it and I identified that problem. Physically nothing has been changed, it is as original, I had never connected it to today.

Sounds like the firmware is corrupt. The bootloader is still ok since the firmware recovery screen is coming up. Sometimes installing 3rd party firmware can corrupt the device. Not sure what the client did...

If you haven't yet, try holding in the reset button, pull the power out for a few seconds and plug back in while still holding the reset button down. Hold for 10-12 seconds and release. After reboot log back in and you should see the same screen. Try updating the firmware again and if you get the same error the unit is defective.

Keep emailing support until they respond. Hopefully they can RMA it for you.

Guys, thanks for the help. Unfortunately it did not work with these tests above. I was actually making one last attempt and luckily, very lucky, it ROUGH, see:

I downloaded the Firmware outside the site of the Dlink, in the original version 1.40 this link:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/D-Link/D-Link-DNR-322L-NVR-Firmware-140b01.shtml

PS: Dlink's site node only has the new firmware 2.40.

Look:

I would try looking for older FW here:

I would try looking for older FW here:
https://tsd.dlink.com.tw/downloads2008detail.asp

Redirect for Access Denied:
https://tsd.dlink.com.tw/accessdenied.html

but with the link I passed above, I was able to download version 1.40, it was normally for nvr, I have now been able to access the normal interface and I already installed 2.40 successfully. You can put the topic as resolved. Thanks again.

Nice. Glad it worked.

Possibly the 2.x.x firmware added encryption to the file like they did with some of the routers which through the recovery page may not install.

Glad it's back running.
That URL I linked works, you might try a different browser or ensure that any security programs are not blocking it.

Enjoy.  ;)
