Casting from the DCS-8525LH, what does that mean?
« on: June 20, 2018, 08:55:37 AM »

The online description of the DCS-8525LH mentions that you can "cast" from the camera. By that is D-Link talking about being able to somehow pull the stream information to be able to broadcast the video, or is the term used to only mean transit to a Google Chromecast? I'm wondering if there is anyway to access the stream to play on a desktop (Windows based) PC via a media player directly.

Any input would be appreciated.

It is referring to Chromecast.

This camera (same with all the DCS-8xxxLH cameras) has disabled the ability to stream video or audio directly using a web browser or 3rd party software unfortunately.
