Bridge with Westell 7500
« on: February 12, 2012, 02:25:30 PM »

My old DSL modem went bad and Verizon sent me a Westell 7500 as a replacement.  I tried connecting my DIR-628 as had been previously set up with the old modem, but it doesn't work.  I've looked at the Westell User Guide: http://onlinehelp.verizon.net/consumer/bin/pdf/VersaLink7500UserGuide.pdf  but it's over my head.  Can anyone help me with simple step-by-step instructions?

Have you tried to contact Verizon support and ask them how to configure the Westel as a "bridge" modem, where the 628 becomes the PPPoE "controller?'

If the 7500 can't be bridged, try using the 7500s DMZ, if it has one, for the 628.
