Title: Does the file get overwrite when SD card is full?
Post by: clmlo on June 12, 2012, 08:05:26 PM
Hi, I am thinking of buying the DSC-942L, I already have "2" DSC-932L.  I wanted to put it in my front door and set it up so it record to mine SD card 24x7.  My questions are, when the SD card get full, does it overwrite the old files?

Or do I have to clean the card every once in a while??  (That will be too much work)

Many thanks....

Here is my guess... if you have it running 24 x 7 that would only be 1 file to be deleted. There is a setting on the camera:

"Cyclic: When this option is selected, it will cause the oldest snapshot files to be deleted when the system requires storage space for new snapshot files."

Not sure if "snapshot" means both photo and video? So my guess is that when the card is full, when this setting is checked, it would erase that one file and start a new one.
