Post by: Cryptical on May 01, 2015, 11:04:10 AM
Hey.

I am currently using DIR-655;
Hardware Version: B1.
Firmware Version 2.09

I can browse the internet and use skype/twitch and so on, but I can't connect to video game servers.
Also, I'm using Windows 8.1.

Norway, Europe
Wired (also tried wi-fi)
A factory reset have been performed
Factory reset was performed after firmware update

- Still the same before firmware update, used to work on my old computer (w7)

Using Cable
Dynamic IP
25 Down and 10 Up.
Browsing speed is good when there is no DNS problem (happens sometimes)
Cable works, used it before.

What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
If Windows 7 works and now 8 and 10 don't, maybe something in the new OSs thats not working.

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations

What are these games or game servers that you are trying to connect to?
Do they require any specific ports to be used?

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection
