Title: p2p app
Post by: hairyonion on April 08, 2011, 12:13:35 PM
The p2p add does not show how many seeders/peers there are. is there anyway around this issue?

I'm on the latest firmware

Its really unnerving going for a 50gig file and not knowing if there are any seeders left on it.

Control for the built-in P2P client is limited, time to switch to other client like Transmission.

Does Transmission supports torrent auto-start by placing the torrent file in a directory like the original P2P app? Email alerts upon completion? Can someone point me to a guide for installing Transmission? Does it consume higher cpu resource as compared to the original P2P app?

Thanks!

Yes, Transmission does support auto-start function but not sure about email upon completion. It's pretty lightweight and is not as resource hungry as the built-in P2P client.

Check the Transmission website for more info, it's has link to other related site for NAS.

Yes, fun-plug will work for DNS-320 with slight modification. Below are some useful link for getting fun-plug and Transmission running on this box.

This seems to be a working zip pack.

Again, to be safe, I recommend against installing firmware from a non-U.S. D-Link source.
