UPnP Server issues
« on: November 30, 2007, 04:31:07 PM »

How many levels of directory can I use in UPnP Server? I created 3 levels and UPnP Server stopped work. I'm using firmware 1.02.

Exempla:

/
  /Filmes
         /action
             /movie.avi

More than 3 levels should work just fine. I would suggest updating to 1.03 from the support site.

I updated firmware to 1.03. The musics and photos played perfectly, but movies appear only the list files. When I clicked on the file, my UPnP client couldn't play. what happened?

Can someone suggest one UPnP client?

I'm using Nero Home how UPnP client. The Nero Home could list all movies at UPnP Server, however when I click on file movie (.avi), Nero Home said that couldn't open file after 2 or 3 minutes. In the list movies, the file name has many special character (char). What happened? The file name can be the problem?

When I was using one HD all things worked, however after I added more one HD, I couldn't change language of system, UPnP Server stopped to work....

I'm using RAID 0.

not to sure why your file names have changed ..

see if you can play the files via the network share of your 323

Did the file name change after trying to play the file when you went back to the list? Did it change on the DNS-323 and the Nero Home software? What was the file name before and after?

I changed the file name to p.avi on DNS-323 via the network share and after I tried play the file at Nero Home that show me the file name correct at the list, however happened the same problem.

When I try play via the network share, I can play. iTunes is working perfectly. EasySearch app version 3.5.0.0 couldn't find DNS-323.

I'm using:

  • Nero 8.
  • Firmware 1.03
  • RAID 0
  • DI-624 Wireless Router

Server Enables:
    - iTunes (work perfectly)
    - UPnP-AV

Directory Sctruture
/
  /Volume1
     /MultiMedia
/Music <--- path of iTunes Server
         /Movie <--- path of UPnP-AV Server
             /p.avi

It's can be about conectivity? My DI-624 every time can't recognize the MAC adress of computer. For this reason I need to ping the machine and DNS-323 or repair the conection.

In another computer I could play the movie during 3 minute and after stopped alone. Are there troubles between DI-624 and DNS-323?

I resolved the problem. The problem is my DLink DI-624 wireless router. When I connect by wire all things worked. I rekon that DI-624 is incompatible with DNS-323. :-\ I'd like Dlink confirm this information to I change my wireless router.

Can you elaborate on your Network setup?

Is your PC wireless to your DI-624 which is then wired to your DNS-323? And the Wireless pC is having problems accessing the DNS-323 UPNP AV server using Nero 8 showtime im assuming?

When the PC is connected wired it works fine?

The PC is conected by wire, but didn't work fine. When I was monitoring the UPnP-AV server of DNS-323 I identified server shut down during Nero Home tried connected. I needed save setting with the same path to server start again.
After I reinstall  the firmware 1.03 the server stopped shutdown, however i couldn't played the movies.

I got this network packets when the DNS-323 communicate with Nero Home. ;D

According this packets the problem is in DNS-323. I reckon the file isn't in HD_a2, so DNS-323 is lost.  :-\
During my test, UPnP Server build the URL http://192.168.0.7:63891/web//mnt/HD_a2/filmes/CodigoVinci.avi wrong, the file don't exist in this URL. In one packet there was error code 701.
What can I do? ???
