Title: USB Port speed
Post by: sewing1243 on April 21, 2020, 07:46:26 AM
Model Name: DIR-885L
Hardware Version: A1
Firmware Version: 1.21

I added a Seagate 5 TB drive USB 3 drive to my LAN via the USB port on the DIR-885L and I have it communicating with the PCs on the network and I'm able to map the drive on  them with no problem.

The issue I'm having is that the write speed to the drive is very slow (maxing at 25Mb/s, usually more like 5-10) and read is only slightly better (50-6 Mb/s). I've tested the drive's speed connected directly to a PC's USB 3 port and it tests at about 125Mb/s read and write (which apparently its specified speed), and after spending a bunch of time disabling all the "helpful" functions Windows and the NIC vendors turn on in their drivers I have transfer speeds between PCs averaging at least 100Mb/s (all using the same test file).

Is this just a hardware/firmware limitation of this router or is there something I need to set in the UI that I haven't figured out how to do?
