Title: Jdownloader 2 On D-Link 320L
Post by: Dc0de on September 21, 2015, 01:54:17 PM
Ive got Jdownloader 2 running headless on a D Link 320L....but I dont know how to get it to run the java program on startup as a background process.

Im using Java 8 from Vtverdohleb off this forum (Brilliant job my friend!! I love your addons!), and running the standard JDownloader.jar from an ssh command line. It works really well but i dont know what to write in a script to start as a background process when the dlink 320L boots. Any help appreciated. At the moment, as soon as i close ssh, Jdownloader also closes.

Would be brilliant if someone could make a Jdownloader addon

If you've installed the Java addon then AFAIK all you need to do is set the addon to "Start"  - in the Start/Stop column the button should be red meaning it's an "Enabled Add On" in Applications

Test it and let us know

Thanks, but im already aware of that. All that does is it starts Java itself....not Jdownloader as i have stated.

If Jdownloader was a proper addon, then it would start from the applications screen. Unfortunately i dont know how to do that, nor do i know how to make a java app run as a background process and/or at startup.

It'd be nice if someone built an add-on out of jDownloader.

By the way, can I ask, after you start the jar through SSH, how do you access it?

I started JDownloader.jar and what to do next? How to activate the web interface of JDownloader? Without the web interface the app is useless.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering, too. Presumably you can set it up somehow to access via web?

So if I'm getting this correctly this starts the program. And then??

Oh right. I guess you put your details in a config files and do it fromthe myJD platform (there's a mobile app and a broswer extension for that). Cool!

Have you managed to make it auto-start?

Autostart is the easiest task. To build a full addon needs a lot more things to do.

Yeah, I guess so. Well, learning how autostarting works would be nice, too.

Hmmm which port should one open on their router? I can see lastlocalport, manuallocalport and manualremoteport but I'm not sure what all these are...

To work with JDownloader via the website my.jdownloader.org no ports are required. To make a manual with pictures? ;)

Then something else must be going wrong with my installation... I've installed it fine, edited the config file with my details, Java8 is running too, however the web interface reports no connected clients. That's why I thought I should have forwarded some port to the NAS on my router...
