Can you boost ethernet over power?

I live in a large house with a number of electrical circuits.  If I plug in my DHP-306AV on a different circuit to my DHP-1320 the quality of the link rate is too slow to use, i.e  around 10 - 20 mbps.  Is there a way to boost the ethernet over power?  The reason I bought this device was because the area I need to have internet connection is too far for wifi, you'd think if they were using the same electricity this solution would of worked for me?
