Read temperature sensor data from switch
« on: August 13, 2015, 10:58:03 AM »

Hey all,

does anyone know if there is a chance to read the current temperature of the housing of a switch? I am running a DGS-1210-28P with latest firmware and I want to exchange the fans against some less noisy. Actually I have already exchange them and it is much more silent now :-) The question is, is cooling still sufficient and that is why I want to read the sensor data.
Theoretically this info must be available, because the switch claims to have a smart fan option that runs the fans speed according to the housing temp, so I thought there must be a way to read the data.

Is there any?

Bye
Dirk

Maybe at the core FW level. I presume it's read by the system only and there is no access to this on a user level.  :-\

I would presume that since this unit has been out for a while, I don't think that kind of feature would be added. I presume this model switch may not be under development anymore.
