Title: DSL 2770L virtual server not working
Post by: sam1138 on March 13, 2014, 08:47:14 AM
I recently installed 2 ip surveillance cam and a nvr for my house.

The seller of the system told me that for the access from remote to the system I need a router with "virtual server" or PAT (port adress translation).

So I decided to buy DLink DSL2770L. As usual it was very simple to start-up everything (config pages are very similar to DIR655) but but but...

the "virtual server" is not working and both me and the seller of the system can't have access to the cams!

I actually opened a ticket with DLink and they are working on it (they suggested to install AU firmware but nothing changed)

I think they are near to call back router for assistance..

we'll see....

for now anyone can give me support?

David - Italy

Try to disable uPnP as a test...

Can you access the modems web page remotely if the remote admin page is enabled?

A DIR series router, any one available in your region should work well...

enable HTTPS secure server and then use 8090 as the port. So when you are at a remote location you would input the follow into a browser:
https:\\WAN Public IP address:8090

40 min of wait by phone to hear that my ticket is gone to 2nd level assistance

the support suggested me to:

- set up DHCP RANGE: from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
- set up again Virtual Server
- in the address bar of the browser to digit my public IP and port

for example x.y.z.r:service_port

i will try ....

hi Furry

I tried remote management as you suggested and it worked, I mean I tried on my pc opening chrome with public ip:8090

second: I tried what suggested by support (dhcp range extension) but nothing changed with public ip and port

I'm going to send back this router to the shop...

Probably newer WiFi drivers and UI standards probably best to make changes and have the router reboot to effect the changes. I don't know.  :-\
