Title: DGL-4500 End Of Life
Post by: FurryNutz on July 02, 2012, 10:24:48 AM
DGL-4500 EOL (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dgl-4500-xtreme-n-gaming-router)

Looks like 2013 is the last date for support on this router. It has been phased out as this Feb of this year.
Kind of sad.  :(

Last FW version released is v1.23NA.

Thanks for all feed back and input.

A suggested follow on routers to the DGL-4500:

:( such a dreadful thing to read, i was seriously hoping they would put out a firmware to fix the wifi, and overall stability before they killed it.

what bothers me the very most is how they aren't going to continue the GamerLounge name onto any other devices... or has this changed?

I bought this because of the Gaming Specific tools and name, if they made a new GL router, i would buy its top end model ASAP!!

very sad they are just dropping DGL's like a hot potato.

R.I.P. DGL, you will be missed.

WiFi stability? My 3 4500s have been working fine here. WiFi is great. Not sure if there is any FW needed. I wish they would continue with the DGL series however the next gen seems to be the follow on, i.e. DIR-857. Been a good run. One of lifes little pleasures. On to the next. Life goes on.
