Well your levels are still within spec but downstream power level is getting close to out of spec.

here are my levels if you want to compare (SB5120) with the main difference between us in bold:

Downstream

Signal to Noise Ratio 38 dB
QAM QAM256
Network Access Control Object ON
Power Level 5 dBmV

Upstream

Power Level 45 dBmV

Hmm odd i do believe that they added an amplifier at one point. but if you aren't haven't issues with around the same settings then i won't worry that much. Is your DHCP server enabled in your modem?

What is " dbmV  dbm is "dbm"  0dbm=1mw over your specified impedance.

dbm is milliwatt while adding V to the end is millivolt.

Watt and voltage are a lot different.

[WARN] Fri Jan 22 16:33:20 2010 securespot services cannot start without at least one DNS server.

If you are not using securespot then disable it in the router.

dBmV. This unit is used in television receiver systems in which the system
impedance is 75 ohms, rather than the 50 ohms normally used in other RF
systems. It refers to the signal voltage, measured in decibels, with respect
to a signal level of one millivolt (1mV) across a 75 ohm resistance (0 dBmv).
In many TV specs, 1 mV is the full quieting signal that produces no "snow"
(i.e. noise) in the displayed picture.

0dBm = 48.75 dBmV.

The dBmV is a unit of signal power, not voltage, because the impedance is
held constant at 75 ohms.

Must have something to do with uTorrent. I had it running yesterday when it kept disconnecting the router. The router log had a bunch of block tcp requests and udp requests. I wonder if it gets overloaded and just reboots.

How many connections are you allowing in µTorrent?

If too many then you are saturating the connection.

I have a 16/2 connection but µTorrent is set for max connected 100.

I'll try to lower it down and see what happens.  I also have a 16/2

The router was said to be able to handle 400 connections i think. You want to bring global and max down on every torrent client you have in the house. Or get a NAS device that supports torrents. I know the old dlink ones (cheaper ones) had this, but most likely removed it in f/w updates.

What's great about that is you can block all torrents from the network except for your NAS, and force everyone to use that one client.

Thanks for the input. I currently have it running only on my NAS, I have to stop it in order to do any online gaming. Kind of a pain but at least it's not reconnecting every 5 minutes now.
