Any hope for Dlink DIR825 users?
« on: January 14, 2010, 11:34:49 AM »

It's really sad that my whole knows that they really should power off the Dlink DIR-825 router, and power it back on ever morning so as not to interupt internet usage during the day due to the issues with it.

Is there any hope to getting this issue fixed?   Can we get these units replaced by Dlink?

Wierd. I don't know why that is. My 825 has been working flawlessly, B1 version. Seems like a lot of people are having the same issues has the dir 655.

I ask the same question!!!

I have ver. B with 2.03NA firmware and I have to reboot the damn thing every 24-36hrs or so.  I'm tempted to pay the restocking fee and just return the DIR-825 if this doesn't improve in another week.

I also have an issue with B1 hardware and V2.03 firmware.  My 825 clients are unable to connect about once every day or two and I'm forced to power cycle the 825.

Did not experience this issue with V2.02 beta so I may revert back.

Dlink, what do you say?  Can we get this fixed?  It should be easily reproducible.

I'm using V2.02NA, and my 825 is working fine. I had a lot of troubles with the european firmware, so i switched to NA

Dlink, the experts on breaking routers.

First the DGL-4500 that broke right after installing 1.20 firmware. Dlink tech support being useless, I finally got my money back after contacting BBB.

IF Dlink can't help, won't give refund or provide firmware that works file a BBB claim
https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/getstarted.aspx?siteID=46

Now back to the DIR-825, after DGL-4500 I still bought a Dlink product, I got the revision B. Router was fine with firmware 2.02, then I made the mistake of updating to 2.03. Day after update router started loosing connection.

I have VOIP phone service, and almost every morning router has to be reset since the phone can't connect to the network, and again this never happened with 2.02 firmware.

OK I have been using the A1 model for a while now.  It needs a reboot each day as well.  It's very disruptive for us when it dies, requiring a reboot. :S

Latest firmware, no problem whatsoever with mine. I have a USB Maxtor External hdd 160gb plugged in the shareport slot, also no problem there (i'm out of USB slot in the main computer). Also makes the drive available to the kitchen laptop.

Best buy I've done with this router. Also works flawlessly with my ISP 50Mbits connection.
