Title: WiFi extenders
Post by: rmartin on September 16, 2020, 05:47:57 AM
Hello - I recently purchased a DAP-1620 WiFi extender.  I'm using with the WPS button on the router and on the extender.  My two questions:
1) I'm getting a second set of SSIDs which is unexpected, I assumed with WPS I'd maintain my native SSID naming.  Is this normal?
2) Would anyone know if I can use multiple DAP-1620 extenders with this router?  the DAP-1620s do allow you to deploy multiple extenders, what I do not know is if the 880-L would operate correctly with more than one extender.

thanks,
Rich

I'm not sure of the DAP-1620 is smart connect supporting.
You might review the user manual to see how its set up or see if there is any web page configurations that can be performed on it.

With the DAP-1620 when using WPS set up it does add -EXT to the end of the SSID of your main signal so example would be myhome is the main SSID and after using WPS it will be myhome-EXT from the DAP-1620. It would be best to look at this FAQ https://support.dlink.com/FAQView.aspx?f=ecMarqpIt2jeZMpW6G3XYg%3d%3d (https://support.dlink.com/FAQView.aspx?f=ecMarqpIt2jeZMpW6G3XYg%3d%3d)
