Title: Dir 868L requires reboot periodically
Post by: Kwagner67 on September 08, 2013, 06:13:29 PM
Purchased the unit about three weeks ago. Updated to the newest firmware because I was having trouble getting my machines to connect. Seemed to work better. About hourly the router will require rebooting to start working again. Any help?  Ideas?

I have the same problem with newest firmware 1.02. My wired network (through dir-868l) is fine, but the wireless network keeps dropping (required a reboot to work again). I re-uploaded the firmware 1.02 (tried both with reloading configure and manually re-set) many times even download 1.02 twice, but it didn't work. Back to 1.01, everything is OK again.

I'd like you to run thru the list if suggestions and questions I presented to you in that thread or this thread and copy and paste back your results here and let see if we can figure this out. I haven't had any issues with my 868L wireless and just yesterday I put it online in AP mode and connected a DIR-865L in bridge mode to it. A xbox 360 is connected to the 865L. Gaming for roommate was great. This is on the 5Ghz AC mode on the 868L. 2.4Ghz is shut off currently as I'm testing a different router with 2.4Ghz and a DAP-1533 for a different thread.

I also recommend turning OFF ALL wireless devices and then turn on 1 device and start testing. Graduate adding 1 more device. Keep doing this until you notice anything or something. Shut OFF the printer as well.

Please let us know results of the wireless suggestions and questions in the thread.

Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using Link> teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) if your interested. Its safe and secure.

Sorry for not answering a long time. I'm very busy now. The firmware 1.01 is fine for now. I'll do what you said when I have time but not now. Thanks a lot.
