Browser and OS compatibility
« on: January 28, 2019, 03:28:06 PM »

I'm up and running with my new DCS-2530L. The Android mydlink app and the camera seem to be working properly.

Working with the www.mydlink.com site:

"What operating systems and browsers does mydlink support?"

Indicates "Chrome 42 and higher". Chrome is presently at Ver 68.x

Indicates "Firefox 12-51 and 52 ESR ONLY" All of these are obsoleted. Latest version is 64.x

Trying to run mydlink.com on the latest versions seems not to move forward beyond the message
that mydlink is not compatible with the Browser and OS. I am using a Linux distro.

"Unsupported Browser or Operating System Detected!"

Is this a problem?

I can view the camera directly.

mydlink.com needs a browser that still has NPAPI supports. Firefox ESR 52 (60 removed NPAPI support), Chrome is a crap shoot tbo. I have zero problems with the latest version of chrome at work but doesn't work at home, and IE 11.  I really really hope the mydlink team will update the website to 2019 standards.

Thanks. FYI  I am on a team that develops one of the major Linux Distros. We had to deal with two Mozilla/Firefox transitions recently. One from Ver 52 and on. The second at Ver 60 and on. Many of the apps and plugins that worked on Firefox 52 and earlier no longer worked on Firefox 60 and newer. That was a major major rewrite for Firefox. Yes, D-Link must deal with this.

Be sure you're using the correct version and ESR of FF.
FF is working for me on OSX 10.14.6:
