Unable to delete reserved IP addresses?
« on: August 26, 2017, 03:25:11 PM »

D-Link DIR-890L   HW:A1   FW:1.10
iMac 27-inch, Late 2013

I have had this Router for 2 years now and as devices come and go, all was well until last week when I added several smart switches to my network. I tried to assign them to a static IP via the router as these devices generally don't provide a device solution to setting a static IP address. I now have 13 static IP reservations set in the Router and get the message that I have exceeded the maximum number of IP Address Reservations. I understand that the max is 24, so how do I delete the 11 dead reservations?

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Have you tried v1.11 yet? You should see greyed out device tiles that should be present even after the device is not connected to the router. Those you should be able to remove the "IP Reservation" here.

What browser are you using when in the UI?

Lets be sure that Static IP addresses are set on the devices and IP address reservations are set ON the router. There are different meanings behind Static and Reservations

Thanks for the info. I have downloaded V1.11 and will give it a try as soon as I have everything lined up to recover to current (v1.10) if something doesn't work right.

In the US (Arizona) using Chrome.

I have a clear understanding of the difference between setting a static ip address from a device and reserving an ip address for a specific device. Currently have 28 devices attached with 15 as static ip addresses set in the device and 13 as reserved ip addresses set in the router. So I have 11 ip reservations that I am unable to see or remove.

I will post results here.

Best regards,

Chet

try IE11 or FF as well.

I presume your static assigned devices are outside of the routers default IP address pool range?

I will give FF a try.

Address pool range is .50 to .99, Static devices are 102 to 185, reserved IP addresses are 201 to 244.

Reserved IPs need to be with in the routers default IP address pool range, not out side.
