dir-5460 vs dir-x6060

CAGALUN:
Hello all,

This is my first post as a new member to this forum.  I'm very much interested in figuring out in which router I should invest.  Here in the United States, the 5460 ( https://www.dlink.com/en/products/dir-5460-exo-ax-ax5400-wi-fi-6-router) just came out, and is clearly the most advanced router in the U.S. market that supports wi-fi 6.  I'd gladly purchase this model, but I am aware of another D-link router which is not currently, and probably won't be released in the U.S. market - the dir-x6060 (https://www.dlink.com/en/products/dir-x6060-ax6060-ax6000-wi-fi-router).  One key factor in my decision making is whether or not either model , if any, would be able to support the newest standard -  wi-fi 6e, either natively or via a future firmware update.  Only one manufacture that I'm aware of - ASUS - has already announced a 6e router (Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 tri-band gaming router) due out in December.  I'd be very grateful to anyone with any insight, advice, or other information, including pro and cons.  Thank you!

FurryNutz:
Most any router that has already been released out in to general market will no support any newer wifi tech, i.e. 6E as each new wifi tech that comes out is hardware specific and required hardware changes rather then FW changes. So if a router mfr puts out a wifi 6 hardware router, then this would generally not include any 6E hardware and would be lock into only wifi 6 tech and support. I haven't heard if or when D-Link will be forth coming out with 6E wifi routers.
ASUS seems to be the one mfr that is always the first one out the gate with new tech. I would not get too involved with 6E until the other side of the fence starts to support 6E as well. Wireless devices need to support it and come to market. I presume next year at the earliest.

CAGALUN:
I wonder if the yet to be released iPhone 12 models will support 6e.......

FurryNutz:
Only time will tell.
With 6E I presume it will bring another ball of fun and bugs to the support world.  ::)

ptorab:
No 6E for iPhone 12 as we know now.

Does anyone know why DIR-X6060 is unavailable in US? I was so much looking forward to this router (in US). Is there a technical problem, product/marketing rethinking, or something else.
