Title: First impression
Post by: CF76 on April 14, 2015, 01:11:52 AM
Hi guys I just buy the new 935L.
I have one 933L and 825L already.
I set up the wifi and motion parameter directly from webGUI with success.
I really like the HD definition of the image, also in night mode is very impressive.
The only difference that I don't like is that the camera send 6 different email with one pic after a motion detection.
The other camera send only one email with 6 pics.
Waiting for some comments from you.

Bye.

Thanks for your feedback! These cameras have come a long way in terms of the picture quality. I started with the DCS-932L and each new generation has markedly improved image quality.

I am currently using Logitech Alert camera system (now discontinued).  I purchased this camera recently and love the video quality and ease of setup.  Questions i have are:

1. How can i record video? I see Dlink has the DNR-202LNetwork Video Recorded, but this device does not appear to be supported yet. Have an ETA?

2.  When i'm using the IP Cam Viewer App for Android to view my camera, it asks for my username/password for the camera. I tried the username/password for the www.mydlink.com  and that didn't work.  I tried the SSID and the password on the Quickstart Card, that didn't work either.  Any guesses?

Sreen quality is decent across my various iPhone and Android devices. However, when i use Internet Explorer to go to www.mydlink.com   the picture quality is terrible and extremely pixelated. In HD mode quality doesn't improve at all, just simply makes the video slightly bigger...

OS: Winblows 8.1
I'm using IE version 11.0.9600.17801
Java Version 8 Update 45

Just tried Firefox, same results.  Video's in both browsers are pixelated the same ways...

Can you post a picture of what the video looks like in the browser and from one of your phones?

Screen shot from my Samsung Galaxy S4

Video of my PC screen using my Galaxy S4 as a camera.  Used both Internet Explorer and Firefox on this video, but both have same results.  Same result between my home computer running windows 8.1 and my office computer running WIndows 7.  After clicking on Youtube link, change video settings to 1080P and blow up to full screeen:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKizkLvAfFg

Can you hit the PRNT SCRN button while you have the browser open on the mydlink page, then post that capture here? Maximize the video picture then hit PRNT SCRN a couple of times, save the capture in Paint. Save to a file then upload to your picture site to get the URL.

Kind of hard to tell 2nd hand from the video using your phone. I think I can tell there is some bad quality though.

Ok, good to know about your other cameras.

Did you see the responses i provided in the quote above?

I'll try the 2.4 ghz signal tonight. I know setting up the camera, the cameras was able to easily find the 2.4 ghz signal, but had some trouble finding the 5ghz signal...

Ugh, i reset the camera a gazillion times to factory settings and i still can't get it connected to my network even using 3 different Android/iphone devices to get everything setup.....  Unfortunately i'll be returning the product this weekend since its too buggy for me.

IT's possible that your unit could be faulty. You should return the unit and try another. If not maybe another 933L would be better. Sorry about the unit not working well.

I'm interested in the DCS-2136L1 MP HD Wireless IP Camera with Color Night Vision camera since it has a lot of functionality that i'm accustomed to with my current, but discontinued Logitech Alert camera system.  Just have a few questions regarding the behavior of the nightvision...  http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62665.0

Just received a call from Dlink Consumer pre-sales department regarding recording capability for this camera.  They said they will have cloud recording feature available starting on May 19th thru the Mydlink application.  It will only have a 20 second limit on recording times...  FYI...

Considering that most of the Cloud cameras only support 10 second clips, 20 seconds is an improvement.  Unless the total storage space is limited to 20 seconds.  :-\
