DCS-930L failure to send email - - DNS setting

In our troubleshooting about ftp operation, I had tried setting DNS blank in the camera Network SetUp pane, letting the router setting take care of DNS.
This did still work for FTP to a numericIP, but killed email, which apparently uses the DNS entry in the camera Network SetUp pane.
