DGS-1500-28P
« on: March 31, 2014, 11:12:55 AM »

I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue, but I cannot find any information about it.

I have a few dgs-1500-28p switches that will (what seems like at random intervals, or if they lose power briefly) reset back to their default IP only. The password that was assigned, name,...etc etc all remains, but the default IP address reverts to 10.90.90.90.

I make the changes both via CLI and web gui (And yes I save the configuration every time), but this has been an interesting issue and I cannot find a resolution.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Are the switches getting warm or hot. In a well ventilated area? 3-6' feet between devices recommended..
Are these switches all the same network or different?
Try swapping and does the problem follow?
How often do you notice this happening?
Is the power lines on a stable supply line?
Test one of the switches at a different location, say home or building...same thing happens?

I am in the NYC area

These switches have not been getting hot, and they have also been in separate installations, installed stand alone. So far it's been 3 separate devices out of a number we have ordered . This has been happening randomly since they were installed, but seems to coincide with loss of power (although one device today appears to have done it without losing power)

And this seems to happen no matter the location.

The ones with the issue have 02.10.002

Updated one of the devices to 2.50.008 this morning to see if I still had the same results.

I would presume that if after that you still experience this problem, I'll recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Keep us posted.

Reached out to them this morning, I was told to they were going to try to recreate the issue in house and would call in a few minutes. I just thought I'd see if anyone here had the same issue while I wait for a call back.
